Pain in the foot area is common to many people, not just athletes.  The most common ailments are Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis, stress fractures, and injuries.

  • Plantar Fasciitis – The main arch ligament in the foot can become inflamed.  If not treated, it will result in a bone spur forming to protect the fascia.
  • Achilles Tendonitis – This involves the tendon on the back of the heel.
  • Calcaneal bursitis – Inflammation of the bursa sac.

Ankle pain can manifest in several ways like pain, swelling, stiffness, which can cause mobility issues.  The cause can be:

  • Sprain
  • Instability
  • Arthritis
  • Gout
  • Fracture
  • Nerve compression

The Achilles tendon can be overused and will become inflamed.  It also is a byproduct of jumpers and joggers because of the repetitive motion.
