Wendy Miller
Wendy completed a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University in 2004 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2006. Since then she has been working with orthopaedic injuries in the private practice setting.
Wendy strongly believes that a detailed assessment allows her to treat the problems underlying her client's injuries and not just the symptoms. Understanding the cause of the injury allows a more focused treatment and prevents the problem from recurring. Wendy personalizes her client's treatment session to fit their individual needs.
Wendy has advanced training in Manual Therapy and is working towards her Advanced Manual Therapy Diploma through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Wendy completed the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute certification exam in 2007. She has taken postgraduate courses in Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) and the prevention and treatment of running injuries. Wendy is a certified Pilates instructor, her training is with the Body Harmonics Studio in Toronto. She instructs both group and individual Pilates sessions.
Wendy firmly believes that specific exercises, which correct muscle imbalances and faulty motor patterns, are keys to successful treatment and prevention of many injuries.
Wendy enjoys staying active. In her spare time she participates in many sports and activities including volleyball, swimming, running, cycling, Pilates and cross-country skiing.
