What is Arthritis?
As mentioned earlier, arthritis is not a single disease, but it used as a general term to address joint pain and disease. It affects all age ranges, genders, and ethnic backgrounds. It is estimated that at this point more than 50 million adults and 300,000 children are affected by some form of the disorder.
The symptoms can come and go and range anywhere from mild, moderate or severe. They can remain static for year or suddenly accelerate. It usually involves chronic pain with limitation of activities of daily living. The most common noticeable affect are knobby joints, but some can affect organs like heart, eyes, or kidneys.
