Physiotherapist

Breana

Breana, who has previously completed a placement with Motion Matters and holds a Physio Resident license, received her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2024. Before this, she earned a Master of Science and an Honour’s Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa. Breana’s passion for learning, science, and helping people shines through. Each day presents her with new challenges and opportunities to grow.

Breana has a strong clinical interest in pelvic health and orthopedics, focusing on creating a welcoming and supportive environment while helping her patients achieve their goals. Her approach combines education, joint mobilizations, soft tissue release, complementary technologies, and customized exercise plans tailored to each individual.

Emma has a PhD in Physiotherapy (DPT) from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She completed her undergraduate degree at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, while playing NCAA Division I in the Women’s Hockey League.

She is dedicated to advancing her skills in pelvic and musculoskeletal assessment and rehabilitation, always striving to offer holistic, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Currently, she is expanding her expertise in pain neuroscience, Mulligan mobilization techniques, and the treatment of incontinence and pelvic pain. Breana seeks to blend creativity and scientific rigor in her practice.

Breana’s background as a technically trained dancer for 18 years continues to inspire her physiotherapy work. Though her career leaves less time for formal dance lessons, she stays active through swimming, biking, snowboarding, yoga, and other hobbies like baking and reading. Her love of movement fuels her desire to understand the human body inside and out.

She also contributes to advocacy efforts, helping create a JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, inclusion) resource library for the Canadian Council of Physiotherapy University Programs (CCPUP). Additionally, she serves as Director of Human Resources for Pulsar Collective, a non-profit organization focused on closing the gender gap in STEM fields.
